An article appeared in the Daily Mail on April 12,
1997 announcing that a pet hamster named Houdini had eaten his way through the
electrics of his owner's Ford Mondeo. This amused me greatly, being the pet human
of a whole load of hamsters, so I decided the story was deserving of a much wider
audience.
